Find the solution to the following system of equations:

y = -x + 2

y = x + 1

First try it using the method of substitution then ... using the applet below

 

set the slope of the red line to m1 = -1 and its y-intercept to b1 = 2 and

set the slope of the blue line to m2 = 1 and its y-intercept to b2 = 1, then 

read the coordinates of the Point of intersection.
